Mindful Watercolour: The Rewilded Still Life
This single, immersive 2.5-hour class, offered on Sundays, is an invitation to slow down and reconnect with the natural world through the fluid beauty of watercolour. Taught virtually, this session blends the meditative practice of mindfulness with creative expression. Our focus will be a Rewilded Still Life, featuring simple natural elements you might forage or find—such as unique stones, dried foliage, a piece of bark, or intriguing fungi specimens. The goal is not artistic perfection, but deep, slow observation to foster a sense of wonder and connection. Learn to match your brushwork to your breath, allowing the medium to guide you into a state of present-moment awareness. Perfect for beginners and experienced artists looking to incorporate mindfulness into their creative practice.
What to Bring: Please come prepared with your own basic watercolour supplies. This does not need to be fancy; simple materials are best for this practice! You will need basic watercolour paints, a variety of different sized brushes, a small container of water, a pencil, an eraser, a board or any hard surface (can be a table, however something you can tilt and move might be useful), masking or painters tape, and watercolour paper. All these items can typically be found in the arts and crafts section of your local department store.
